Meet Lisa.

I am a mom of two boys, a former teacher and a Registered Psychotherapist. After years of working as an educator, I have developed a deep understanding of the challenges that children face today, both in and out of the classroom.  I witnessed firsthand the impact that mental health struggles, such as anxiety, emotion regulation, and trauma, can have on a child's ability to learn and thrive. This inspired me to pursue a career in psychotherapy, with a specific focus on helping children and their families.

I have a Bachelor of Arts Psychology degree from Trent University (2008), a Bachelor of Education degree from Queens University (2009), and a Masters of Education in Counselling Psychology degree from the University of Ottawa (2016).  I am a member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.

Drawing from evidence-based therapeutic approaches such as Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and play therapy, I practice from a trauma-informed, integrative approach that is tailored to meet the unique strengths and needs of each client and their family. My goal is to create a safe and supportive space where children feel heard and understood. I help young clients develop coping skills and strategies to self-regulate and manage anxiety, sadness and other big emotions.

I look forward to meeting you and your family, and supporting you through this mental health journey!
