Insurance
Please note we cannot bill insurance companies directly. Please contact your insurance provider to inquire about your coverage for counselling services before beginning sessions. In Ontario, many plans now provide coverage options for psychotherapy or counselling provided by a Registered Social Worker (RSW) or Registered Psychotherapist (RP). However, each employer negotiates with their insurer to select the specific services included in their employee benefits plan.

Is a physician's referral or written approval necessary in order for services to be covered?

What is the total amount of coverage that you have per calendar year?

How much is covered per session? (100% or up to a certain amount)​
Counselling sessions provided by a Registered Social Worker (RSW) can be claimed as a medical expense on your income tax return if you have not received reimbursed by an insurance plan. Remember to retain your receipts.
Payment
We accept credit card and email money transfer (e-transfer). Payment is due at the end of each session. Clients are required to submit their own receipts for reimbursement. Unfortunately, session insurance claims that are rejected are not refundable, so please clarify coverage ahead of time.
Cancellation Policy
Please provide at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a session. This allows your session time to be provided to another family. Failure to provide 24 hours notice for cancellations will result in being charged half the rate of the session.

We understand that some short-notice cancellations cannot be avoided. In these cases, the cancellation fee may be waived and will be determined on a case-by-case basis. If an illness or emergency arises, please connect with us as soon as possible to let me know if you are unable to attend your appointment.
Privacy and Confidentiality
Your privacy and confidentiality are of utmost importance. The information shared will be kept confidential, except in situations where we are legally or professionally required to report, or with your written consent. For example, it is our duty to report any child protection concerns or if someone is an imminent risk to themselves or others. More detailed information regarding your privacy and confidentiality will be clearly outlined in an informed consent form, which you will review and sign prior to beginning services.
